Lackluster Hero was recorded at Data Music in Altoona, PA in 1996. All songs were recorded in one day, live, with no overdubs except for some backing vocals on a few tracks. It was the least expensive way to record it, and it gave the album a great live energy. If we messed up while recording a song, we had to start playing and recording it all over again. Because of this, we approached the performance on the album as if we were playing in front of a live audience.

Most of the band members lived together in a house in Hollidaysburg, PA. The songs on this album were entirely written in this house. Living together made the songwriting process very interesting because no two songs were ever written the same way. Different band mates worked together on writing songs at different times of the day. Band practice is where the songs would come together.

Tukker Altoona, Pennsylvania

Tukker was a popular unsigned rock group in the central PA area who started in 1994 and went on hiatus in the Spring of 1998. They played in Altoona, PA and surrounding areas. Their most frequented venue was the former YWCA basement in Altoona. Their live performances were hard-hitting and energetic. Fans still remember Tukker fondly to this day. One day, they may reunite.
